The Tree Tops annual HOA meeting took place at the Germantown Community Library on April 9, 2019. Here are the minutes from that meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 7 PM, with about 30 people in attendance.
The current board members were introduced: Denise White, Dan Roeming, and Martin Oduro.
(Board member Denise White gave the following reports:)
Projects completed in 2018 included clearing diseased and windfall trees throughout Tree Tops, especially in the park next to the swingset. Dead trees were also cleared in the wooded area next to the smaller pond. Brush was cleared out of the rocky drainage area on the small pond. And, the erosion-damaged rock inlet next to the large pond on Emerald Drive was repaired.
Projected landscaping projects for 2019 include follow-up on the buckthorn removed in the woods next to the park a couple of years ago, as well as the wooded area behind the small pond. Dead and windfall trees will continue to be removed as needed, and buckthorn removal will continue. A cracked area in the park parking lot will be repaired, and the west entrance sign will be painted.
New mulch will be installed throughout Tree Tops this summer, since it has been 2 years since it was done, and many people at the meeting were in favor of it.
Doug Anderson asked if some lights at the east entrance that were capped off some years ago, due to vandalism, could be repaired and lit again. It was agreed to look into doing that.
Pat Tasker asked that we consider planting some trees near the west entrance, to replace some of the old trees that have been removed from that area. The board agreed to consider it.
Doug Anderson said there are also some dead trees around the large pond that need to be removed.
Several residents talked about the aging split-rail fencing throughout Tree Tops, and the need for repairs in some areas. Repairs will be dealt with on an as-needed basis.
(Board member Dan Roeming gave the following report:)
The 2018 income and expenses were reviewed in detail, as well as the 2019 projected income and expenses. One dues payment was not received, due to a foreclosure.
Based on this report, a 2019 dues amount of $300 was proposed, a motion was made, seconded, and passed unanimously.
Doug Anderson gave a report on mailbox decals. He found a vendor, Fast Signs, to produce the tree logo and the address numbers for any Tree Tops residents who need them. If 6 to 8 people place their order at the same time, the price becomes more affordable. Residents can contact Doug to place their order, at andersondl7765@att.net, with “Mailbox Decal” in the subject line.
Also on the subject of mailboxes, a suggestion was made to send letters to those people who have mailboxes in need of repair, urging them to do so. Denise stated this has been done in the past. We can ask people to make changes, but we cannot force them to do it.
Dan Roeming mentioned that one Tree Tops resident has installed solar panels on his roof, and that this is allowed under Wisconsin state law.
Denise White mentioned an upcoming neighborhood rummage sale, to be held in mid-June, and to see the flyer on the back table for complete details.
On the subject of the annual holiday decorations at the entrances, there is a sign-up sheet on the back table for people who would like to volunteer to install and remove the decorations. Several people expressed an interest in doing so.
The meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM.
